SERMON: - TRANSITION INTO GOD’S IMAGE

MINISTERING - APOSTLE PAUL TAIWO

DATE: SUNDAY EVEING 11TH JANUARY 2026

Key Texts:

Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Colossians 1:15; Galatians 4:19

INTRODUCTION: GOD’S ORIGINAL INTENTION

Beloved, God’s ultimate goal for humanity was never just salvation alone—but restoration of His image.

“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” — Genesis 1:26

Sin did not erase the image, but it distorted its expression. Redemption in Christ is God’s divine process of restoring what was lost, upgrading us from fallen identity to Christ-likeness.

This sermon is a prophetic call to transition—from:

survival to sonship

religion to revelation

form to nature

name-calling Christianity to image-bearing Christianity

1. UNDERSTANDING GOD’S IMAGE

The Image Is Not Physical — It Is Spiritual Nature

“God is Spirit…” — John 4:24

God’s image speaks of:

Divine nature (love, holiness, righteousness)

Authority and dominion

Character and mindset

Capacity to represent God on earth

“Christ is the image of the invisible God.” — Colossians 1:15

👉 To see God’s image, look at Jesus.

Jesus is not only our Savior—He is our blueprint.

2. TRANSITION IS A PROCESS, NOT AN EVENT

Salvation happens instantly. Transformation happens progressively.

“We all… are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18

This means:

You don’t wake up Christ-like overnight

Every season is a dimension of glory

God uses process, pressure, and presence to shape His image in you

Transition requires:

Time

Yieldedness

Spiritual alignment

3. THE GOAL OF PREDESTINATION IS IMAGE

Heaven’s agenda is not just that you make heaven, but that heaven is seen in you.

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.” — Romans 8:29

Prophetic truth:

God is not primarily interested in what you do—He is obsessed with who you are becoming.

Your gifts may take you far, but your image sustains you.

4. THE WAR AGAINST GOD’S IMAGE

The enemy does not fight your church attendance—he fights your transformation.

“If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost…” — 2 Corinthians 4:3–4

Satan attacks:

Identity

Mindset

Character

Consistency

Because once you carry God’s image, you become a threat to darkness.

5. TRANSITION REQUIRES RENEWAL OF THE MIND

You cannot look like Christ with a fallen mindset.

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

The mind is the womb of transformation.

Wrong thinking produces wrong living

Renewed thinking births divine expression

Prophetic insight:

The speed of your transition is determined by the quality of your thinking.

6. THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN IMAGE TRANSITION

Transformation is not self-effort—it is Spirit-powered.

“If the Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you…” — Romans 8:11

The Holy Spirit:

Convicts

Corrects

Conforms

Cultivates Christ in you

“My little children, for whom I travail until Christ be formed in you.” — Galatians 4:19

7. TRANSITION IS PROVEN BY FRUIT, NOT NOISE

God’s image is revealed by fruit, not fame.

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…” — Galatians 5:22–23

If Christ is formed in you:

Love replaces bitterness

Humility replaces pride

Obedience replaces rebellion

Holiness replaces compromise

8. THE COST OF IMAGE TRANSITION

Every transition demands death to self.

“I have been crucified with Christ…” — Galatians 2:20

You cannot look like Christ while protecting:

Ego

Flesh

Carnality

Old patterns

Transition is painful because old identities must die.

9. PROPHETIC DECLARATION FOR THE SEASON

This is a season where God is:

Removing masks

Refining motives

Restoring image

Raising true sons

“The creation eagerly waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.” — Romans 8:19

PROPHETIC PRAYER & DECLARATION

Lift your voice and declare:

Father, I submit to Your process.

I reject every distortion of Your image in my life.

By the power of the Holy Spirit,

I transition from glory to glory.

Christ is formed in me.

I walk in divine nature, authority, and character.

I reveal God in my generation.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

CONCLUSION: BECOME THE SERMON

The world is tired of sermons preached with mouths.

It is waiting for sermons preached with lives.

“As He is, so are we in this world.” — 1 John 4:17

Final ProPhetic Charge:

Don’t just talk about God—look like Him.

Don’t just know Scripture—manifest Christ.

Transition is not optional. It is your calling.
